Problem Note 46536: Using an XMLMap file generated with the SAS® 9.3 XML Mapper might generate errors

DetailsAboutRate It
Errors might be generated when using the XMLV2 engine in SAS® 9.3 to read an XML file that includes an XMLMap file created with the SAS 9.3 version of the XML Mapper.

The errors can occur when the XML file contains namespaces, which is now supported with the SAS 9.3 XML Mapper. When there are multiple branches that use 'xmlns=""' to override a default namespace, errors similar to the following are generated in the SAS Log:

ERROR: The namespace substitution {-1} in /{1}Response/{1}Result exceeds the count value of # in NAMESPACES element of the XMLMap.

To prevent this error, use the SAS 9.2 XML Mapper to create a map file for the XML file.
